Michael photographed his first wedding at age 13 as a favor for his cousin, and the rest, as they say, is history. As a result of his love of photography and the warm accolades he received about his work throughout his life, he decided to turn professional years later. He has studied photography in college and in professional seminars and workshops over the years. In 1980, he won first prize at the Marin County Fair for "Best Color Print," and he has won several other prizes since that time. Michael has worked professionally as a photographer since 1986. As one of California's premiere wedding photographers, his work has been featured in guides, magazines, and in various galleries. He appears in "By Recommendation Only," Johanna Kaestner's invaluable wedding guide for the San Francisco Bay Area. He also can be found in the prestigious planner "Here Comes The Guide."
Michael is proud of an achievement made where his business was the featured vendor on the 1/2 hour TV program titled "The Wedding Show". It was shown in the San Francisco Bay Area with much positive response. He provided answers to many questions brides and grooms are asking about photography. While Michael's portraits are superb examples of technical photography [See Article], he outdoes himself with his candid shots. With a sense of humor and an uncanny sense of timing, Michael captures details overlooked by all but the finest photographers. Before a wedding, Michael consults with his clients to determine the style of photography desired, to plan important shots, and to identify any particular people to be photographed. Michael prides himself on his ability to communicate with his clients and the other professionals involved in his clients' wedding. He quickly puts couples at ease before, and more importantly, during their wedding. On a day of wedding promises and vows, Michael lives by his favorite: "We all promise to have fun!" |
